LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!
Wow, I've been missing out. My coffee doesn't taste bitter anymore. Wish my old coffee maker broke a long time ago. Just be really careful of the glass canister. Its delicate.

Good Press, but would have liked it to be insulated
It seems that as soon as I put hot liquid into this press, I can never get a hot cup of coffee. If this was insulated, I think it would be better.

Java nut...but not for this..
I bought this thinking that it would make a great gift for Father's Day. A friend owns a different brand and I thought for the price, this one would be OK...wrong. I didn't like the idea that there was no way of measurement indicator on the glass (would help) for water and the plastic holder is not as strong. You really have to be careful when washing (I recommend handwash). Although it seems quick and easy to use - I find using my old coffee maker took about the same time. Have used this at least 4 times - not really crazy about it. Reason I gave it 2 stars is that the taste of the coffee was a little bit stronger and flavorful - but not worth the time or the clean-up.

I really couldn't be much happier. . . :)
Before I tried coffee brewed using a french press, I had no idea that it could be strong yet not bitter. Who knew?! I thought only coffee shops had that magic power. A friend and fellow coffee addict turned me onto the press idea and I figured I'd try ordering this Bodum off Amazon because it came well-rated (and was the same price as WalMart's generic brand press.) I honestly cannot be happier. It produces a FABULOUS pot of coffee and the tiny bit of extra effort w/ grinding my own beans, heating the water, & hand-washing is definitely well worth it.

I was wary at first of the faulty manufacturing & glass beaker warnings of other reviewers, but I've used it at least a dozen times since I purchased it and have had no problems whatsoever. I don't put mine in the dishwasher though. It seems sturdy and well-constructed in my opinion. . . . and I like the design. that's always a plus.

The only thing I wished I'd known before I bought it, or at least before I used it. I was using the 8oz=1cup measurement and didn't realize that didn't apply to this. Could've been helped by reading. To any who are a bit confused by the oz/cup ratios, this comfortably holds about 16 oz or 2 cups of water (plus the coffee grounds.) But it's perfect for me as long as I'm not brewing for guests too.

Bottom line: I'm very pleased (and glad I didn't shell out twice as much for one of the more expensive Bodum models. :) )
