BUNN NHBX-B Contemporary 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer, Black

This is a nice step up from the $30 "mr. coffee" makers i've bought over the years. First off, it's about $35 dollars cheaper on Amazon than retail stores. It brews very fast. Some people think this is a bad thing because it doesn't get all the flavor from the beans, but this is how it's supposed to work. The hot water isn't supposed to soak into the beans for too long, which will give it a bitter taste. The coffee it makes is great... I like bold flavors, and it does a great job brewing this. No problems with waters leaks. It comes with a deliming tool for mineral build up. Attractive design, quality build. The water is perfect temperature... keeps my coffee hot for about 30 to 40 minutes in a plastic travel mug. The ceramic warmer plate works perfect. Do not use it for over 30 minutes on a pot of coffee, as it will effect the taste. This is noted in the booklet that comes with it.

Although the Bunn may use a little more coffee grounds, the quick, hot, flavorful coffee is worth the extra money. Actually, my coffeemaker, in error, came without the sprayer for the grounds. So I used a 3 oz. paper cup filled with grounds and set it in the center of a coffee filter in the basket, directly under the hot water spout, until the sprayer arrived from Bunn. I actually could cut my grounds back by one scoop with this method! The sprayer (a couple of them) arrived within five days from Bunn.

I love doing business on Amazon.com, this dealer like all that I have used was quick to deliver. I live in the country and I have over an hour drive to a store to shop for items like a BUNN coffee pot and I do not have time to run from store to store. Amazon and their dealers make my life a great deal easier. This is my third BUNN and it is well worth the money I paid.

This is my second Bunn coffee pot and would not consider another brand. The coffee is always made with a true fresh taste in only 3 minutes. The Amazon price could not be matched anywhere either, together the coffee pot and price could not be beat!!

First, two minor flaws. The bottom of the carafe and the unit holder do not mate well. If you do not pay attention the carafe will not be seated in the holder and the coffee will not be hot enough. Also, would it be to much to ask for a 5-10 deg hotter setting? I know that hotter coffee loses its flavor faster so there is a trade-off.

Now the good part. Instant hot water makes brewing tea, coffee, or soup very fast. I start the coffee, put in the toast, and the coffee is done before the toast comes up! If you want a cup of tea, fill the cup and pour it in the top. Hold the cup under the output, close the cover and the same amount of hot water will come out instantly.

Filters are extra tall so order extras with the maker.
