Braun KF590 Impressions Digital 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

This was my second Braun coffeemaker. I was looking for a 12 cup model like my first machine, however that machine always made one cup less than the amount of water put into the machine. This model makes the exact amount stated on the water reservoir. Also, the filter isn't needed when you have good water. So far, no problems. My wife and I are very satisfied and would purchase this machine again.

A hot pot of coffee- fast. Easy to pour carafe without spills, easy to clean and set up also. I love it.

Bought this one to replace a very old Krups. Didn't buy another Krups b/c of the bad reviews. Very happy with this coffeemaker. It has all the features we wanted. It is programmable, has auto-off, pause and serve, and a water level indicator and an easily removable filter basket. We use paper filters instead of the included gold filter basket because the paper ones are less messy to empty. Coffeemaker brews extremely fast and makes and keeps coffee hot. I have not noted a problem with the filter basket release button nor do I find it excessively noisy like some buyers have noted on similar KF590's. We don't use the water filter and that doesn't cause any problems. This coffeemaker has everything we wanted at half the price of others.

This is a replacement for my 6 yr. old Braun Coffemaker that still made excellent coffee.Wife said it was time to replace it because it looked its age!(hahaha) The Braun Coffeemaker is my coffeemaker of choice and in my opinion it makes better coffee than more expensive coffeemakers I have owned over the years and does it consistantly every time.

So, my beloved Cuisinart was broken. I decided to get the Braun KF590 because my brother had one. He had bought it because of its sleek looks and speedy coffee making ability. My brother and I share a love of coffee, so I figured if it was a good choice for him, it would be good for me, too.

However, within hours of pressing the Amazon "order" button, my brother informed me that he was tossing his Braun KF590 because its pause & serve function didn't work and would leak coffee all over the counter. He owned his for 2 years.

I received mine a few days after this news. The very first time, I used the Braun KF590, I had a waterfall of hot coffee dripping from my counter onto the floor. I didn't even use the pause & serve function!!!!

I only made coffee with it three more times because I thought my previous coffeemaker (Cuisinart) was broken. Lucky for me, the Cuisinart needed a thorough decalcifying because the Braun flooded my kitchen with coffee each time I used it.

This coffeemaker is back in its original box, sitting on a basement shelf as a reminder that German engineering is not always a good thing. I consider this item to be a total waste of my money and time.

I will never buy a Braun coffeemaker again!!!
