Braun KF590 Impressions Digital 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

I did my homework when I bought this coffeemaker. I read customer reviews, and trusted the good name of Braun since they make great coffee accessories. A month later, I'm shopping for something else.

This coffee maker seems to be designed for some other substance than liquid water because every action on it leads to puddles on the countertop. When it brews the coffee, it releases the fluid too quickly into the carafe, which causes usually about a cup of water to leak out (from my average 7-cups) while brewing. This is a full cup of coffee. On my counter. Then when you go to pour what precious coffee you have left into mugs, it's impossible not to spill even more. The spout on the carafe is very narrow, and in my opinion curved incorrectly. I'm sometimes able to not spill any while pouring if I do so very slowly. Unfortunately that kind of hand-eye coordination and patience don't come easy at 7 in the morning.

On the upside, it does make tasty coffee, and the water filter is nice. I hate to give it such a bad review, but it really is terribly designed. Anecdotally, when I complained about my coffeemaker to my father, the first thing he asked is "Is it a Braun? Yeah, they leak." I'll be going with a different brand this time around.

This is a great coffee maker for the price. It is nice to have the built in gold filter that can be washed and reused. Other reviews have complained that the coffee brews too fast, but that is one of the benefits! I'm glad I selected this coffeemaker.

I spent a lot of time researching which Coffemaker to purchase. By reading others' comments, I was able to determine what features were important to me and which one satisfied those needs. I have been using the Braun KF590 for a month now and am VERY pleased with my purchase. I stopped using the filter basket almost immediately, and bought disposable cone filters and I may try it without the Braun water filter and see if I notice the difference. Right now I'm getting a great cup of coffee every time. No complaints whatsoever.

This coffeemaker (Braun) is the best we ever owned. We had an earlier Braun coffeemaker where the carafe was broken,and we tried other coffeemakers that we were not satisfied with. We had problems finding the Braun brand in retail stores, so we looked to Amazon for a solution. Who knew all this time I could have been having better coffee at home? This machine makes a great cup of coffee! It's fast, tasty and, uniquely, it is HOT. Finally I can put cream in my cup without having to microwave it. For me a water filter is a must for better tasting coffee and a cleaner coffee maker. The Braun looks nice, too, especially if you have stainless appliances, and it comes with a gold basket filter for those who like those. Highly recommended.
