Unless you buy a whole lot of these and do several at one time, it is really a nuisance. Also, if you happen to get coffee granules between the top and the bottom, it is problematic.

The ecopads arrived quickly, and were quickly put to use. They work as well as the little pods, and will produce the same wonderful foamy top layer, as long as they are fully packed. A little less produces a rich, aromatic cup of brew, but without the foam. Thanks! I have options!

I have used these pods, both the original and "improved," and I find that if you use a fine grind of any coffee they will produce a perfect cup with rich thick foam. You can even re-grind coffee that is ground for drip coffee makers. I have 12 of them and keep them on a little tray for drying out after rinsing. Don't use them wet. After brewing a cup I immediately rinse all sides of both parts of the pod maker and then set them out to dry. I fill them almost to the top and then "tamp" the container lightly with my fore finger and finish by brushing off any grounds from the edge of the lip. If this sounds complicated or a hassle, it is really not and the pods are very forgiving. Just try to make sure they are full, but not so full that you can't push the lid on securely.

After a year and a half, I have never had a single problem with these pods. People who experience clear water flowing through are either using a coarse grind or they have not "packed" the pod at all. The utility of these pods is such that I have used coffees ranging from Maxwell House (re-ground) to Kona whole bean coffee.

Easy to fill and clean (Dishwasher safe - oh please! Like we can't just rinse it out ourselves?) No magic here: just fill with a scoop of fine or espresso grind, snap on the top, then BAM- lots of foam, and all your favorite beans to choose from - NO complaints here! I can't grind it fine enough with my burr grinder, but grinding it at the market or buying it ground to my specs at Uncommon Grounds, our local coffee shop, is still cheaper than Senseo pods. I bought two pkgs of Eco Pods, 2 pods/pkg, so I always have a full one ready to go, even on the weekends when I guzzle a LOT of espresso. (NOTE: eco pods fit my deluxe model Senso, many other refillable pods won't) This product will pay for itself in a short time. Love it!

this is fantastic tool. it makes good frothey coffee. it is easy to clean & easy to fill. i bought 5pks & filled with my favorite coffee. it is very convenient. if anyone wants to enjoy fine a cup of coffee? then this is it. it works relly well with senseo coffee machine. i love it.
