Refillable coffee pod
Finally a refillable pod that holds up! It has even outlasted the screen in my original pod coffee maker (B&D). The coffee maker has been retired because the parts are more expensive than a whole new pot, but these things are still going strong! 2008-04-14

Refillable Coffee Filter
The Ecopad is easy to use and allows me to use my regular coffee brand. 2008-04-14

Senseo refillable coffee pods
The refillable coffee pods for the Senseo coffee maker are great. It is a very good alternative to purchasing the ready-made coffee pods for several reasons, number one is that it is much less expensive. In addition, you have a much greater range of choices in the coffee you can brew. You can purchase your favorite brand and variety of decaf or regular coffee in either ground or bean form and simply fill the pods. If you purchase several of the refillable pods, you can fill them ahead of time with the coffee you most often use and have it ready to pop into the Senseo coffee maker. The refillable pods are also dishwasher safe, so you can simply clean them in the dishwasher and not have to deal with washing them by hand. The refillable pods are a great idea that have made a very good coffee maker even better and more affordable to use! 2008-03-29

What's all the fuss? They make PERFECT coffee for me
I read all the comments here and results seemed to be mixed. Some people were having success, so I figured it was method rather than product that was the problem, and I think I was right.
I ground my own beans to course/fine. Not powder, but finer than you would normally get with pre-ground coffee.
I packed the cup overfull with a teaspoon, the scraped it off level with a knife blade, making sure no coffee was on TOP of the cup so the lid would seal well, then snapped the lid on. I used the 2-cup pod holder, but only pressed the single cup button, do this twice for a regular cup (4 oz cups just don't seem normal to me since "cup" is 8 oz).
Anyway, I got the trademark foam and everything. PERFECT coffee.
I will say I do like my coffee pretty dark, so you will need to tune it to your taste. I got lucky, it's perfect for me. And for the record, I typically use Starbucks Verona beans that you can get at any grocery store.
I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 for only one reason, having to clean and dump the things takes away from the experience of Senseo. Half the beauty is pop it in, press button, toss in trash. No cleaning.
But if you want custom coffee (The Senseo brand is the most awful stuff I've ever tasted I think), then this is a great option. I simply dump the grounds in the sink and rinse them down (I've been doing it for years, it causes no problems if you make sure to flush it with plenty of water).
I was wanting to buy a perfect pod system next to try out, but now I don't see any reason to.
Based on comments from other users, I just bought 20 of these (10, 2packs) so I always have clean and dry cups and I can make up enough at one time to make my typical 3 cups in the morning. I'd love to make them up the night before so I can stagger into the kitchen and blindly press the button when I crawl out of bed, but I demand fresh grind, I am totally spoiled and this little gizmo just made my Senseo experiment a keeper, I doubt I'll ever use the big pot again.

Works as described. Small learning curve.
I have had these pads for over 2 years now and they work consistently. You do have to do some experimentation with coffe type and grind and fill amount. But once you get it dialed in, it is easy as pie. I make 1-2 cups a day, and turn the machine on, and prepare the coffee and the pods before the system is ready to brew. Then push the button and viola, great coffee much better than the office brew. I have never had a clogged machine or broken pod since going to the newer brown version. The older blue ones were no where near as durable. I wash them out every use with soap and water and they still work as good today as when I bought them.
My Setup.
I use only coffee shop espresso grinded beans, usually a sumatra or other dark roast coffee. I fill the pad slightly over, so I need to compress it slightly to get the lid on. This usually make a great cup. Good luck!!
