Keeps the coffee hot/warm all day
after reading all the reviews here and on coffee geek (great review there by the way), i decided to get one. it keeps my coffee warm the whole day. this one is closest to the amount i drink per day. 2008-01-10

Absolutely Recommended
It insulates so well that I can easily use water for tea that was put into the bottle the night before. Also, the bottle is always cool to the touch. 2007-12-31

The best.
I bought one of the non-thermos nissan travel mugs a few years ago and was so impressed with it that I bought two of these thermoses (1 for me, 1 as a gift). Nissan's beverage holders keep hot drinks hot for so long, I can't imagine another company doing a better job. If you like to drink your coffee/tea right away, nissan is not the company for you because my tea is always practically boiling for at least an hour after you fill the mug. But if you like to sip coffee/tea throughout the morning or for lunch, this thermos or their travel mug will do the trick. And, if you think you may want it at dinnertime or even later, this thermos (if pre-warmed and not opened much during the day) can keep you coffee or tea hot for more than 12 hours! One caveat--these are kind of hard to clean and aren't safe for the dishwasher, so they aren't great for people who like a lot of sugar and cream in their coffee or who are hoping to use these for soup. 2007-12-25

Best alternative to plastics.
Unless you carry your potable water in any plastic other than HDPE 2, 4 or 5 you risk contaminated leakage. This is especially true for the hard plastic-type bottle and the grocery store variety (which should only be used once). Stainless steel is best. Just like grandfather's thermos that he took to lunch every day, the old school way wins out. Unfortunately, the Nissan bottles (I now own two) leak. The stopper is a bit difficult to secure and the "pour" and "closed" areas don't appear to do much. I'm told Stanley makes a better product. 2007-12-14

steel thermos
The thermos was offered at a significantly discounted price because of a small dent. I took a chance, and ordered it. It does indeed have a small dent on the end, but it is a great thermos, the best I've ever owned. Very tough, and keeps things hot for a very long time. 2007-10-17
