Great, but poorly made
I have been using my Keurig coffee maker for a couple of years and really like the coffee and being able to make a cup at a time, as I want it. Because I don't like many of the k-cups taste and I don't like spending the money on them, I bought the My K-Cup reusable filter. On the whole, I like the coffee it makes and it is pretty easy to fill and clean out (although, some of the convenience is lost by using this).

However, there are two issues with this filter.

1. It breaks pretty easily. I have now gone through about 3 of them (I've just started using the 4th) in my almost 2 years of using the Keurig coffee maker -- so one every 6 months. It seems no matter how careful I am with it, the lip breaks off. Why they cannot make this of higher quality, I don't know. It still is more economical than buying the pre-packaged k-cups (as well as being more environmentally friendly and tasty), but it does get old having to buy new ones.

2. Unless you get the grind right, which takes a bit of work, coffee grounds do end up in your coffee.

Other than that, I am happy with the reusable filter and will continue to buy them until they make something better.

weak coffee
keurig reusable coffee filter. I tried it five or six times with different brands of coffee. It always came out very weak coffee. There was not enough brewing time using this filter. The pod is stronger.

Great Idea - Poorly Made
We have a Keurig and while we love it, the My K-cup essentially doesn't end up saving you any money, because little by little the outside casing falls apart and you have to keep buying more.

And at $15 a pop, that can get a little pricey.

We are on our third one right now, and we have been able to save the filter baskets for them and switch those out, but the lip where the lid screws on begins to crack and fall off in little pieces.

I contacted Keurig about the problem and their suggestion was to be sure not to tighten the lid too much. We stopped doing that after the first one broke and it hasn't made a difference. They also offered to send a free replacement for me. It's been 3 months and I still have yet to see that happen.

If you can deal with the frustration of having the product keep breaking and don't mind replacing them, go for it. We still love being able to choose the coffee that we want to make, but are considering changing back to a full pot with all the hassle this has been.

love this product
the K cup reusable coffee filter is wonderful...when I want a fast cup of coffee.... with the brand of coffee I purchase at the grocery store....all I need to do....is to put the ground coffee in the reusable filter and presto...I have a wonderful cup of fresh brewed coffee..just the way I like it ...no need to purchase the expensive ready made type.

Useful item - a must have - for your Keurig Brewer
The "My K-Cup reusable coffee filter" is actually more that just a filter. It is an assembly of several parts - the plastic body, the mesh filter basket, and the Lid (screw on type). Parts seem durable and well-fitted, although there are no needles or detachable funnel as on the factory unit. That simply means you cannot successfully use any pre-made K-Cups. You must FIRST pop out the factory K-Cup receiver and insert the My K-cup unit into the coffeemaker in that empty opening. Function was perfect in my coffee maker using both coarse-grind beans and pre-ground Dunkin' Donuts decaf coffee. Reading the manual will avoid several pitfalls common to posted complaints. Coarse-ground coffee will work best. Brush any grains of your ground coffee off the top before securing the lid - this avoids leakage and breakage. Hand washing with a mild dish soap will make this little gem last longer than just running it in the hot dishwasher with caustic bleach-y detergent. Because it employs a mesh screen instead of paper filters, you do need to wash it after use! Four stars for being useful; Five would be apropo if it were more versatile and easier to use.
